Pruning

Before

After

Due to the vast amounts of lush vegetation in this region, it is easy to forget about how important pruning is to keeping the trees in your beautiful landscape in the best shape possible. Pruning is crucial to tree health. By thinning the canopy, it increases air flow and allows sunlight to reach all parts of the tree. Also, branches that are damaged or dying can be susceptible to diseases and pests, which can then spread to the whole tree.

Pruning is especially important for fruit trees. It helps to shape the tree to ensure that it can carry the weight of the fruit properly. Also, by pruning non-fruit bearing branches, you concentrate the nutrients and energy the tree receives from soil, sunlight, and water to the areas that provide fruit.

Hedge & Shrub Trimming

Similar to pruning trees, trimming hedges of their diseased sections can prevent the spread of those diseases and help promote new growth. Most hedges are put in place for privacy purposes, but that doesn't mean you can let them grow freely. It is important to keep these hedges properly trimmed so that their foliage doesn't start growing into adjacent streets or properties. Shrubs can also be a beautiful addition to any yard, but can grow out of shape very quickly. As an important aspect of the landscapes they populate, regular trimming is necessary.
